Air Fryer Frozen Potatoes O’Brien
This recipe featured Potatoes O’Brien which is a combination of diced potatoes, diced onions, and bell peppers. It is a great combination of veggies and cooks perfectly in the air fryer!
My family loves to have these for breakfast with some eggs and bacon. So good!
I used the Ore-Ida brand of frozen diced potatoes, but you can use any brand that your local store carries. Make sure to check if yours are seasoned or unseasoned before starting!
How to Cook Air Fryer Frozen Potatoes O’Brien
Making these frozen diced potatoes in the air fryer couldn’t be easier! You only need a few simple ingredients.
- Package of frozen diced Potatoes O’Brien
- Salt
- Pepper
- Vegetable or Olive oil, optional
First get your air fryer basket out and pour in some of the frozen potatoes. Since there might be some large chunks of frozen potatoes, try not to overcrowd the basket.
Next set the temperature of the air fryer to 400F and the cook time to 18 minutes.
After 5 minutes, remove the basket from the air fryer. Your diced potatoes and veggies should be defrosted now. Pour them into a mixing bowl.
Add in 1-2 tablespoons vegetable oil, salt, and pepper to taste. If your potatoes are seasoned already, you can skip this step!
If you don’t want to use any oil to keep it low-calorie, you can skip it. They just won’t be as brown.
Mix to combine.
Return the potato mixture to the air fryer basket and spread in a single layer. Return basket to the air fryer and let it continue cooking.
After 5 minutes, take the basket out and shake well. This ensures that the potatoes are getting browned on all sides.
Return basket to the air fryer and let it finish cooking.
When done, remove and serve!
What to Serve with Air Fried Potatoes O’Brien
You can certainly serve this dish on its own, but I like to pair it with some other sides to make a more filling meal. If your family is sharing this, they will probably want a hearty breakfast or brunch.
You can serve this dish with some bacon and eggs, or use a plant-based meat to keep it vegetarian!
