Air Fryer Bacon
Wouldn’t you agree that bacon is one of those things you add to any meal to pump up the taste?
Salad? Bacon.
Omelette? More bacon.
Sandwich? Oh yeah! Triple-up on that bacon, please!
It’s that versatile, and let’s not touch on its delicious, scrumptious goodness.
Make it crispy or a bit loose, it sure doesn’t matter. The taste remains the same!
I’d like to think that bacon doesn’t discriminate. There’s something about it that sits well with people, and you’ll rarely find a person who doesn’t love bacon.
Americans are used to eating strips of bacon, but you’ll find that it assumes different shapes and names in various other parts of the world.
Canadian bacon, for example, is mainly available in round slices. British bacon is derived from the loins of the pig, and the shape looks a lot like pork chops —round at the top, but streaky at the bottom. British bacon is called back bacon, FYI.
Regardless of the shape, smoked or unsmoked, they’re all cured meat and taste darn good.
You’re likely accustomed to cooking bacon the old-fashioned way —in a skillet on a stove. I also have recipes for bacon in the oven, bacon in the microwave and bacon in the Instant Pot. You’ll learn something a bit different today, and that’s cooking air fryer bacon, or bacon in an air fryer.
The Art of Cooking Air Fryer Bacon
This air fryer bacon recipe can’t get any simpler. It’s hassle-free, with minimal monitoring. If you don’t yet own an air fryer, click here for the model I recommend.
Hot air circulating within the air fryer is what cooks your bacon. The finished product comes out crispy and crunchy on the exterior.
This air fryer bacon only calls for a single recipe. It’s a no-brainer.
All you need to get the job done, and in a jiffy, are your bacon strips.
How to Cook Air Fryer Bacon
When making this air fryer bacon treat, avoid overcrowding the fryer basket. Would you stack bacon on top of each other if they were being fried in a skillet?
Unlikely!
Don’t apply that practice to your air fryer.
To make crispy bacon strips, add your bacon to the air fryer’s basket. Set the temperature to 400F, with the timer at 5 minutes.
Adjust the timer on your air fryer, depending on how crispy you want your bacon strips to turn out. It’s always best to start from 5 minutes and work your way up from there, if necessary.
On a side note, if you want your bacon less crunchy than what is seen in my images, feel free to subtract a few minutes from your timer.
Once you’re comfortable with the texture, remove your bacon strips and add to a napkin.
Just a tip: you can always cook more than 4 bacon strips. Simply add a few more minutes to the cooking time and, as mentioned before, lay each strip flat, not on top of each other.

It’s amazing how bacon has such a universal appeal and enhances almost any dish.
So…. How do you clean up afterwards?
I just wash the removable basket in the sink with a sponge and dish soap (same way as washing a non-stick frying pan)
