Health Benefits of Brussels Sprouts

These little cruciferous veggies are full of antioxidants that improve cell health and lower the risk of certain types of cancers. Brussels sprouts are also loaded with vitamin C, which is good for your heart and skin as well as vitamin K which is said to improve bone strength. And like most veggies, brussels sprouts are full of fiber that improves gut health by helping to prevent constipation and lowering the risk of colorectal cancer.

How to Cook Instant Pot Frozen Brussels Sprouts

This recipe could not be more simple! All you need is an Instant Pot and a handful of ingredients!

This is what you need:

  • Frozen Brussels Sprouts
  • 1 Cup water
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Garlic Powder

Bag frozen brussels sprouts in front of an Instant Pot.

To get started, grab your Instant pot and add 1 cup of water. Then add the frozen brussels sprouts, but do not add the seasoning yet. They are seasoned at the very end after cooking for the best flavor.

Now, put the lid on the Instant Pot, switch the valve to the sealing position, and set the time to 1 minute at High Pressure.

Then when the brussels sprouts are done cooking, quick release the steam and wait until the pin drops. It’s really important to wait for however long it takes for the pin to drop before opening the lid so you don’t burn yourself.
Next, remove the cooked brussels sprouts using a slotted spoon and transfer them to a plate. Now, season them with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to taste. You can also add a drizzle of olive oil if you like.

And that’s it! Perfectly cooked Instant Pot frozen brussels sprouts ready to serve!

How to Store

Leftover brussels sprouts will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days covered or in an airtight container. To reheat, just put them in the microwave for a few minutes on medium power or in a saute pan on the stove.
