Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Apples In Air Fryer

You are going to love making air fried sweet potatoes with apples! Both are super yummy and already naturally sweet, which means that not only do they go hand in hand, but your kids probably love them too! And with this air fryer recipe, you don’t even have to turn your oven on or make a big mess on the stove. In fact, the recipe doesn’t even call for oil and it comes out perfectly browned on the outside and soft on the inside.

This 3-ingredient recipe relies on all the natural deliciousness of the apples and sweet potatoes with just a dash of cinnamon. It’s literally just chopped sweet potatoes and apples that are roasted to perfection in the air fryer in just 18 minutes. That’s it! It’s so easy you can make it with the kids.

Yet, this roasted sweet potatoes and apples in air fryer recipe is really versatile, so you can be as creative as you like. I only add cinnamon because I like to keep it simple and low-fat. Yet, you can add any spices you like such as ginger, nutmeg, or pumpkin spice. You can even add savory herbs like thyme or rosemary. And if you want to add a dash of oil you can as well. It’s totally up to you.

How to Make Air Fryer Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Apples

Making roasted sweet potatoes and apples in the air fryer is really easy!  You only need 3 ingredients!

  • 2 Sweet Potatoes
  • 2 Apples
  • Ground Cinnamon

But you can use any herbs and seasonings you like. I just like to keep it simple.

To begin, wash the sweet potatoes and apples. Then peel them if you like. I keep the peel on mine. Yet, it’s totally up to you.

Next, cut the sweet potatoes into bite-size pieces. Then put them in the air fryer basket, sprinkle them with cinnamon, and shake the basket to coat them. Now, cut the apples into bite-size pieces and add them to the sweet potatoes in the basket. Then sprinkle them too with a dash of ground cinnamon and shake the air fryer basket once more to coat everything in cinnamon.

Now, put the basket into the air fryer and cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 18 minutes.

Then halfway through cooking, at about 9 minutes, remove the air fryer basket and shake it so that the sweet potatoes and apples move around. This helps everything to cook more evenly. Now, place the basket back into the air fryer to finish cooking.

Once the roasted sweet potatoes and apples in air fryer are done, remove them from the basket and put them on your favorite serving dish to enjoy!

How to Store and Reheat Air Fryer Sweet Potatoes and Apples

Leftovers will keep in the fridge for up to one week when stored in an airtight container. You can also freeze them for up to 3 months when stored in a sealed freezer bag.

To reheat, simply put the roasted sweet potatoes and apples in the microwave for about 3 minutes on medium power or in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes. If reheating from frozen, I suggest putting them on a baking sheet in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until they crisp up. This will take varying times depending on the portion size you are reheating, but will be around 20 minutes.
