How To Make Jimmy Dean Sausage Balls
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
These 3 Ingredient Sausage Balls start with mixing together cooked Jimmy Dean sausage, Bisquick baking mix, and cheddar cheese.
Using a large spoon or your hands, mix together the ground sausage, Bisquick, and shredded cheese. Roll mixture into about 24 balls, a little less than 1/4 cup each.
Place sausage balls on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes.
Cooking Tips
- Cook the ground sausage beforehand, for easy preparation.
- If mixture is sticky while combining the ingredients, add 1/4 cup of water to make it more manageable to handle
- You can switch up the protein in this recipe… try chopped bacon or ham
Should You Refrigerate Bisquick Sausage Balls?
They are best served shortly after baking, but you want to keep them for longer, they will need refrigeration. These sausage balls are meant to be served at room temperature, so if you do refrigerate them, you may want to carefully heat them up in microwave (about 30 secs) or the oven (about 3 mins) before eating.
Why Are My Bisquick Sausage Balls Dry?
It could be that more water needed to be added during the mixing process. Add just enough water that the mixture is pliable with your hands or mixing spoon. Another issue could be that the baking mix was not incorporated fully with the sausage and cheese, leaving dry spots of baking mix.
