How To Make Bisquick Breakfast Casserole
First preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet until done.
Next, mix the casserole ingredients in a bowl. Add the 4 eggs and whisk them up. Pour in 2 cups of milk and whisk again.
Finally, add the dry ingredients: 1 1/2 cup of Bisquick and 1 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Stir to incorporate.
Now it’s time to prep your casserole dish. Use nonstick cooking spray or butter on a 9″ x 13″ casserole dish.
Using a slotted spoon, scoop the sausage out of the frying pan and into the bottom of the dish. Pour in the casserole ingredients on top.
Bake for 35 minutes, then allow to rest for 5 minutes. Cut into squares and enjoy!
Cooking Tips
- Use a slotted spoon to scoop the sausage and keep the majority of the cooking grease in the frying pan.
- You can prep the casserole dish with nonstick spray or brush it with butter, this helps with easier clean-up
- For best results, allow the casserole to cool down for 5 minutes before serving
How Do You Keep a Breakfast Casserole From Falling?
Allow the casserole to cool down for 5 minutes once it’s out of the oven. This helps the casserole to solidify and not crumble when sliced. Also try not to open the oven door while the casserole is baking.
Do You Bake a Breakfast Casserole Covered Or Uncovered?
With breakfast casseroles that are mostly eggs, cheese, and some variety of protein, you’ll want to bake it uncovered. This results in a tasty golden brown crust on the top of the casserole.
