Korean Barbeque BBQ Beef (Bulgogi) Recipe

This recipe for Bulgogi (Korean Barbequed Beef) has an authentic taste, and is really easy to make!

Ingredients:

2 lb beef, thinly sliced
1/2 cup soy sauce
3 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp pepper
5 garlic cloves, minced
1 large red onion, sliced
1 tbsp vegetable oil

Directions:

Make the sauce for Korean BBQ beef: mix soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, pepper and minced garlic.  Microwave the sauce for 30 seconds, then stir to dissolve the sugar.

Put the sliced beef and chopped onion in a bowl and pour sauce over it.  Leave to marinate for 20 minutes at room temperature.

Heat the 1 tbsp of oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat.  Add beef and onion, and stir-fry for 5 minutes or until cooked through.

Serve Korean BBQ Beef over white rice.

Tip: for this recipe, I buy the cut of beef labeled “sandwich steak”.  It’s very thin large slices of beef.  Buying sandwich steak makes slicing really easy – you just slice in into strips, and then slice the strips the other way into more pieces.
