Making hummus yourself is extremely easy when you follow my easy homemade hummus recipe.  You don’t even have to cook anything!  The only tasks you need to do are opening a can of chickpeas, peeling a garlic clove, squeezing a lemon and pressing button of the food processor :)

This homemade hummus is made in a food processor, so the food processor does all the work for you.  Just put the hummus ingredients in the food processor, press a button, and the homemade hummus is ready!

Recipe: Easy Homemade Hummus Recipe

Preparation time: 4 minutes

Number of servings: 8

Ingredients:

1 can (15 oz) chickpeas (or garbanzo beans), drained
1 large clove of garlic (or 2 small garlic cloves), peeled
1/3 cup tahini
1 small lemon
3 tbsp olive oil
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper

Directions How To Make Hummus:

Squeeze the juice out of a lemon and discard the peel.  Put all ingredients in a food processor fitted with the steel blade that goes inside the bowl.  Pulse 5 times.  Press the “On” button and process until the hummus is smooth.  Add more salt and pepper if necessary.

Enjoy your homemade hummus!

  1. Looks like a great hummus. Do you find that it can sometimes get a little thick without adding water? I find it depends on how thin the tehina is (it can get thick at the bottom of the jar).
