Softened Bell Peppers In Microwave

Microwaving bell peppers is a really handy way to cook them up quickly! All you need to do is wash the bell peppers, cut them into slices, season them, and put the peppers in a microwave-safe dish. Then, you pop them into the microwave and cook them for a few minutes until they’re tender. It’s super easy and saves a lot of time compared to cooking them on the stovetop or in the oven.

How To Make Microwave Bell Peppers

You’ll love how easy this dish comes together!

Start by washing your bell peppers. Then slice them in half and use the knife to remove the stem, membranes, and seeds. You can also scrape out the insides with a spoon.

Next, cut the peppers into slices. The thickness of the slices is up to you.

Add bell peppers to a microwave-safe dish. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Use a spoon to toss the pepper strips in the seasonings.

Cover the container loosely with a microwave-safe lid and place it in the microwave. Heat on high for 7 minutes.

At this point, check to see if the peppers are tender to your liking. You can do this by piercing them with a fork. If need be, close up the microwave and cook them for another couple of minutes.

If the peppers are ready, remove the container from the microwave. Be careful, and use a kitchen towel or oven mitts as the dish will be hot.

Lift the lid off of the container and enjoy the bell peppers.

  • Don’t worry about removing all of the tiny seeds when slicing the peppers, the seeds are edible
