How To Make Tortilla Cinnamon Rolls In A Microwave

Start with laying a tortilla out on a preparation surface.

Spread cream cheese in an even layer on the tortilla. Sprinkle brown sugar on top, breaking up any sugar lumps as needed.

Finish off with a light sprinkle of cinnamon across the entire tortilla.

Now it’s time to form the cinnamon roll. Using a pizza cutter or knife, start on the outside edge of the tortilla and slice it up into even strips about 1″ wide.

Roll up the edges to keep them inside the cinnamon roll. Then add the small roll of tortilla to other strips and continue rolling it all together (see photos).

Once cinnamon roll is formed, lightly squeeze so the roll keeps its shape in the microwave.

Place cinnamon roll on a heat-safe plate and microwave for 30 seconds.

Once treat is ready, remove from microwave, slice & enjoy!

Cooking Tips

  • It’s important for the tortilla strips to be similar lengths. You can use the first cut strip to measure out the rest of the tortilla strips
  • If the roll is hard to form together, use extra cream cheese as “glue”
  • You can make as many of these cinnamon rolls as you want, just add more tortillas
  • Be sure to use a microwave-safe plate for heating
