Soft Boiled Eggs in the Air Fryer

You can use the air fryer to cook one egg or as many as you need. This is a super healthy recipe for cooking eggs perfectly. Ideally, you would have a metal egg holder for the air fryer basket. This prevents the eggs from moving around in the air fryer during cooking time. However, if you don’t have one– don’t worry! You can still cook delicious soft boiled eggs in the air fryer.

We like to batch prep a whole bunch on the weekend and eat them throughout the week. Eggs are an excellent source of protein for a hearty breakfast or filling snack. My kids can just grab one and go. I love to slice mine up and serve over potato salad, toast, or even a spring greens salad.

How To Make Air Fryer Soft Boiled Eggs

Place as many eggs as you want in the egg holder. Heat at 275 for 10 minutes (soft boiled eggs).

Carefully remove eggs from basket with oven mitts. Place eggs in a bowl of ice water to cool off.

Peel eggs and enjoy!

  • Recommended to use a metal egg holder in the air fryer so eggs don’t roll around during cooking
  • 10 minutes of cooking time will give you soft boiled eggs, if you want firmer yolks, add a minute or two to cooking time
  • Placing eggs in ice water bath after cooking makes them easier to peel

Do You Need Water To Cook Eggs in the Air Fryer?

No water necessary! If possible, cook the eggs in a metal egg holder designed for the air fryer. But no water needed for cooking.

Can You Poach Eggs in the Air Fryer?

Yes! You’ll need an oven-safe ramekin for each egg. Grease the ramekins and crack an egg into each one, plus about two tablespoons of water. Place ramekins in air fryer basket and cook at 360 degrees for about 4 minutes.

How Do You Fry an Egg in the Air Fryer?

For individual fried eggs, just use aluminum foil! Make a small foil pocket for each egg. Prep it with nonstick spray or butter. Crack the egg inside and fold up the edges of the foil. Cook at 390 degrees for 6 minutes.
