But what sets this chicken salad sandwich apart is its simplicity!  The real game-changer here is the food processor. By using this handy kitchen tool, you can shred the chicken in seconds, saving yourself loads of time and effort.

How To Make Shredded Chicken Sandwiches

To make this tasty shredded chicken sandwich, you only need a few key ingredients!

  • Cooked Chicken: I used a cooked chicken breast. But you can use any type of cooked chicken you like including leftover chicken.
  • Mayonnaise: Makes the chicken salad creamy. Feel free to use any brand of mayo and add as much or little as you like. You could also use Greek yogurt if you prefer.
  • Sweet Pickle Relish: Adds just a touch of sweetness and tang. You can omit this ingredient if you like or use other kinds of relish.

Next, pulse the food processor a few times, using short bursts, until the chicken becomes shredded. But be sure to keep an eye on it to avoid over-shredding. You want the chicken to still have texture. Then transfer the chicken salad from the food processor into a separate bowl.

Now, grab a slice of your favorite bread and generously spread it with the chicken mixture. Then top it with another slice of bread and your shredded chicken sandwich is ready to eat!

  • 1 Cooked Chicken Breast or leftover chicken
