Instant Pot Frozen Ravioli

All you need to do is put some frozen ravioli in the Instant Pot and it will cook it perfectly in minutes! Instant Pot frozen ravioli is so delicious and easy, you’ll never go back to using the stovetop again!

Instant Pot Frozen Ravioli

Imagine biting into these mouthwatering ravioli, they are so yummy and tender!

Cook frozen ravioli in the Instant Pot, add a jar of pasta sauce and you’ve got dinner on the table!

This recipe works with any type of ravioli you like! I used cheese ravioli for this recipe as it is my favorite.

You can cook this right from frozen! No need to defrost first.

If you buy a large bag such as I did, it will be enough to feed your whole family! I picked up a 1 lb bag from Kroger.

If you want to cook a smaller amount, the recipe is still the same!

You can also use any type of jarred pasta sauce you prefer! I used Prego marinara sauce for mine as it is my family’s favorite type!

It cooks so quickly so you can have dinner on the table in no time at all. Great for a busy parent or worker who needs a quick and hearty meal!

Frozen ravioli
Pasta sauce
Water

Instructions How to Cook Frozen Ravioli In The Instant Pot

This ravioli couldn’t be easier to prepare in the Instant Pot!

You only need water, frozen ravioli and pasta sauce to make it.

First you will add 1 cup of water to your Instant Pot pressure cooker. Then add in the ravioli all together.

Close the Instant Pot lid and set it to the Sealing position. Set to Pressure Cook on high for 2 minutes.

Then when the Instant Pot is finished cooking, release the steam using the Quick Release method. Wait for the pin to drop before opening the lid.

Using oven mitts as the Instant Pot is hot, carefully drain the ravioli water with a colander.

Return the ravioli to the Instant Pot.

Then pour in some of your favorite pasta sauce. You can use as much or as little as you like!

Stir it up with a spoon to combine.

Because the Instant Pot and ravioli are both still hot, it will heat up the sauce without any additional cooking.

Just let it sit for a minute and it will be ready to serve!

What kind of ravioli can I cook in the Instant Pot?

You can cook any kind of frozen ravioli in the Instant Pot, whether it’s filled with cheese, ground beef, sausage, chicken, meat, spinach or other vegetables. This versatile kitchen appliance is perfect for cooking ravioli straight from the freezer, without the need for thawing.  For ravioli with meat filling, add an extra 1 minute to pressure-cooking time.

Cooking time for frozen ravioli in the Instant Pot is quick, usually 2 minutes at high pressure, followed by a quick release. Frozen ravioli thaws while the Instant Pot is coming to pressure, then it cooks to perfection in 2 minutes.

Can I cook fresh ravioli in the Instant Pot?

Yes, you can cook fresh ravioli in the Instant Pot. The cooking time will be shorter than for frozen ravioli, so adjust accordingly to ensure they are perfectly tender without being overcooked.  I recommend setting cooking time for 1 minute less for fresh.

Is pressure cooking ravioli same as boiling ravioli?

Pressure cooking ravioli in the Instant Pot is different from boiling. It uses steam and pressure to cook the ravioli evenly and quickly.

What to Serve with Instant Pot Ravioli

Instructions

  • First add 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot.
  • Then add the frozen ravioli.
  • Set the Instant Pot valve to the Sealing position and set to Pressure Cook on High for 2 minutes.
  • When it is done, strain the pasta using a colander and return to Instant Pot.
  • Pour in the jarred sauce, using as much as desired or needed depending on amount of pasta.
