How long do egg bites keep?

These air fryer egg bites are so perfect for your weekly meal prep and they make busy mornings a breeze! Once they have cooled to room temperature, store them in an airtight container in the fridge and they will keep for up to a week. You can eat the egg bites cold, but I like to pop them in the microwave for 30 seconds to heat them through.

Are air fryer egg bites freezer friendly?

These copycat Starbucks sous vide eggs freeze so well – I always make a double batch! Just let them cool to room temp and place in a freezer safe container. They will keep frozen for up to 3 months. You can then reheat them right from frozen to serve by cooking them in the microwave for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Alternatively you can thaw them in the fridge overnight.

Freezing them doesn’t alter the quality or texture one bit!

Are egg bites a healthy breakfast option?

Yes! These egg bites are high in protein and low in saturated fat, so they are a great way to start your day. They are ideal if you are following a low carb or keto diet as each one contains just 2g of carbs. One egg bite is around 160 calories, I have two and they will keep me feeling full until lunch.

I tried this recipe and replaced the ham with 2 strips of cooked bacon chopped. My husband and I loved it. I also put chopped bell pepper and red onion diced. I don’t know the calorie difference from using ham to bacon, but it was a low calorie breakfast and filling with 3 each. We didn’t feel we we’re cheating from our diet. I liked it so much I made another batch to put in the refrigerator for the next day. I want to see if it is as good as freshly made. I printed this recipe to put in my Air Fryer recipe book and I will share to friends.

I’ve made several versions of this and this is by far the best. Ran into problems before with timing and temp. This is just perfect. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Totally unrelated to the recipe, but I just wanted to comment that I have the exact same layout to my U-shaped kitchen :)

Gave these a try with ham spinach and cheese. Thought they were great and a nice base for left overs from the fridge. Think I will try less oil in the container next time.

Tried this and it turned out great! Kept them in the fridge and they made a nice, quick snack…The 2nd time I made them, I added bacon bits and gruyere cheese. Turned out like the Egg Bites at Starbucks :)
