An awesome thing about air fryer mushrooms is the fact that they are healthy! They are gluten-free, low-carb, keto and vegan! A serving of these mushrooms has 3 net carbs, so you can certainly enjoy them on a keto diet!
You can cook any type of mushrooms in the air fryer! You can use white mutton mushrooms, portobello mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, whichever ones are your favorite or whatever you happen to have in a fridge. On the pictures in this article, I used baby portobello mushrooms, they were so delicious! I love portobellos, if you like them as much as I do you will love my portobello pizza recipe :)
How to cook mushrooms in the air fryer
Air frying mushrooms is really easy!
- Air fryer mushrooms temperature: 400F
- Air fryer mushrooms cooking time: 10 minutes
All you need to do is chop the mushrooms, toss them with olive oil, salt and pepper and other preferred seasonings and air fry for 10 minutes at 400F, shaking the air fryer basket halfway through. If you buy pre-sliced mushrooms, it will save you a chopping step :)
Can you air fry whole mushrooms instead of sliced? Sure! Just increase the cooking time for whole mushrooms by 5 minutes, then check to see if they are ready (if they need more time, add another 5 minutes).
Air fryer mushrooms are so versatile, you can eat and serve them so many different ways! Serve them as a side dish, as part of healthy meal prep, as a salad topping, on burgers or sandwiches, add them to pasta dishes or stir fries. And since mushrooms are so filling, they also make a great plant-based main dish!

I LOVE mushrooms in making these tonight in one air fryer and making your air fryer meatballs in my other air fryer! In a hoagie roll with cheese. 1 question how lean is the ground beef in the meatballs?
I like to use 80% lean ground beef, but the meatballs recipe works with any type of ground meat.
Worked for me on first attempt
I added about 2 tbsp of supermarket-grade balsamic vinegar and let them marinate an hour before air-frying them. With the extra liquid, they probably needed 11 or 12 minutes instead of 10, which I will try next time. When they came out, I drizzled them with about 1 tbsp of high-quality aged balsamic, and they were DELICIOUS.
It’s so easy to prepare thanks to your simple instructions 🙏🏾
amazing!
