Watermelon Popsicles

Watermelon is naturally super sweet, so it’s a perfect fruit to use in homemade popsicles!

Look at these homemade watermelon popsicles! Their bright red color is achieved by using 100% real watermelon, not some red food coloring! Their refreshing watermelon taste is achieved by, you guessed it – real watermelon, not the imitation watermelon flavoring :)  They look like watermelon, taste like watermelon and smell like watermelon because they are made of just 1 ingredient – WATERMELON!

When you lick these watermelon popsicles, you’ll feel pure happiness.  Sitting outside on a hot summer day and sucking on a giant ice pop that tastes like watermelon – it  doesn’t get better than that!  It will cool you down and will lift you up.  Refreshing? Hell yeah!

A sweet treat that’s actually good for you – bring it on! These watermelon popsicles have no added sugar! Why add sugar to something that’s already naturally sweet?  I try to avoid adding sugar unless I absolutely have to – I even make no sugar strawberry popsicles, and watermelon is much sweeter than strawberries :)

Your watermelon popsicles are as good as the watermelon you use to make them, so don’t try to salvage bad watermelon by turning it into popsicles (for using up suboptimal watermelon, my recipe for watermelon pickles is a much better choice!).  The watermelon flavor really shines through in these natural homemade popsicles, so follow my watermelon picking tips to choose the best one!

Making homemade popsicles is super easy! Just cut a watermelon, then puree watermelon chunks in a food processor or blender, then pour watermelon puree into popsicle molds and freeze until solid! If you don’t own popsicle molds, you can use paper cups instead :)

Having these homemade watermelon popsicles on hand is a great alternative to junky snacks and desserts!
