Microwaving Brussels Sprouts

The most common mistake people make while cooking brussels sprouts is overcooking them.  Just like with most other vegetables, overcooking brussels sprouts will turn them into a disgusting mush!  Brussels sprouts should still be somewhat crispy when they are done cooking.  When in doubt, undercook!  The brussels sprouts continue cooking on their own for a few minutes while they are extremely hot, so they will get even softer.  If you cook them to the point that they are very soft, they will end up mushy due to this extra internal cooking.

  1. I like to chop one Brussel sprout, add a little water, and microwave for 90 seconds. Then add it to my morning eggs or my lunchtime ramen soup!
