Air Fryer Frozen Salmon Recipe
When I am looking for a quick dinner recipe, I always like to take a quick peek at what I have in the freezer. Nine times out of ten, I will have a few fillets of frozen salmon ready to cook.
Today, I am going to share how you can cook those salmon fillets in the air fryer! And let me tell you- This air fryer frozen salmon is amazing!
You don’t even have to wait and thaw out the fish. Just throw it in the air fryer and cook it straight from frozen!
Just like that- you have a quick and easy dinner for two.
Don’t have an air fryer? That’s okay! You can easily make this same recipe and cook it in the oven instead. Or, you can cook the salmon in the Instant Pot!

How To Cook Frozen Salmon In The Air Fryer
Cooking frozen salmon has never been easy. Honestly, cooking it in the air fryer, you won’t even remember it was frozen in the first place!
Start out by spraying the bottom of the air fryer basket with a non-stick cooking spray.
Place the frozen salmon fillets into a single layer at the bottom of the air fryer basket.
Set the air fryer to 400 degrees for 5 minutes.
When the air fryer is done cooking, sprinkle the salmon fillets with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Divide the butter into 2 pieces and put a piece of butter on top of each salmon fillet.
Set the air fryer to 400 degrees for 3 minutes. At the end check to see if it’s cooked through, if not return it to the air fryer for another 3 minutes, or until it’s cooked to your liking (the exact cooking time depends on how thick is the salmon).
When the air fryer is done cooking, remove the cooked salmon to a plate and serve.
Enjoy!
What To Serve With Air Fried Salmon
My go-to side dishes to serve at dinner with my cooked salmon is some air fryer roasted potatoes along with some roasted broccoli or roasted asparagus. YUM!
When I am making a light lunch, I really like to pair up this air fryer salmon with some homemade mango jicama slaw for that bright freshness.
Looking for a low carb side dish? I highly recommend making a delicious salad (like this tomato cucumber avocado salad recipe).

Instructions
- Spray the bottom of the air fryer basket with a non-stick cooking spray.
- Put frozen salmon fillets in the air fryer basket.
- Set the air fryer to 400F for 5 minutes.
- When the air fryer is done cooking, sprinkle the salmon fillets with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Divide butter into 2 pieces and put a piece of butter on top of each salmon fillet.
- Set the air fryer to 400F for 3 minutes.
- When the air fryer is done cooking, check the thickest part of the salmon to see if it's cooked enough to your liking. The exact cooking time depends on how thick is the salmon, and it's better to undercook and add more cooking time then to overcook and dry it out :) If it's not cooked enough, return it to the air fryer for an additional 3 minutes at 400F, then check again.
- When the salmon is cooked through, remove it to a plate and serve.

Just wondering if you preheat the air fryer before spraying and putting in the salmon? Thanks!
I never preheat the air fryer
The salmon was flavorful and cooked through in no time. I just added some spices to add a kick. Will make this again!
I love that the salmon came out juicy and tender. Just dump it in the air fryer and you’ll have a great meal
