If you were looking for pecan recipes online, I’m sure you noticed that most of them are using corn syrup as essential pecan pie ingredient.  In this day and age, corn syrup got such a bad rep though that nobody wants to willingly put it in their mouth. If you get a pecan pie at the bakery, you eat it without over-analyzing it – after all, “what you don’t know won’t hurt you” :)  But having to purchase corn syrup for a recipe and pouring a cup of it into a pie makes most people cringe.  I have great news for you – this easy pecan pie recipe doesn’t have any corn syrup in it!

  1. This is the same recipe I cut out of a magazine back in the 70’s! I was 13, and didn’t make it until I was grown, but it has been my favorite pecan pie recipe ever since. I’ve tried a couple other recipes but I always go back to this one. It’s just right.

  2. I have used this recipe for over 30 years it always is a crowd pleaser. It also makes a great English walnut pie my father-in-law always wanted me to bake him a walnut pie every Christmas

  3. Hi! Can’t wait to make this! Should the butter be completed melted into liquid form in a small pot or softened/ room temp?

  4. This is really yummy! I made a short bread crust in a 13×9″ cake pan and doubled this recipe. It makes delicious pecan pie bars? Happy Thanksgiving!

  5. Thank you so much this was so delicious! I was skeptical about not having corn syrup but it’s so much better without it.

  6. Thank you for this recipe! My son is allergic to corn (and wheat, soy and peanuts), which eliminates so many foods. I was able to find a grain-free frozen pie crust and made this pie for him. It was exciting to be able to make something he can eat! Best of all, my husband, who is the real pecan pie aficionado in the family, likes it better than the traditional one I’ve made for years with corn syrup. A total win-win. Kudos!

  7. So many compliments on this pie! Everyone said it was the best I’ve ever made. It did come out a tad runny. Maybe bake it a bit longer next time?

This pie was so yummy! I had always made it with corn syrup but wanted to try recipe without it. This is as good if not better than recipes with corn syrup. It looks different but has a nice candy top which is unique and very tasty.

  9. Hi! Quick question: is the 1 cup of brown sugar packed or loose? Also, what sort of milk should you use? Thank you, I can’t wait to make this for Christmas ?
