Instant Pot cabbage and sausage is the easiest one-pot dinner ever! A great bonus is the fact that it happens to be low-carb!
Cabbage and sausage go so well together! It’s a classic combination that’s especially popular in Europe. So yummy and comforting, it’s a great one-pot meal that is also low in carbs!
For this recipe, you can use either raw or cooked sausage. I like to use cooked Polish kielbasa, but you can make it with any type of sausage. If you are using cooked sausage, you can slice it first and throw into the Instant Pot with the cabbage. Raw sausage is hard to slice, so if you are making it with raw sausage, just put the whole sausage links with the cabbage into the Instant Pot, cook it and then slice the sausage afterwards, once it’s cooked.
Making Instant Pot sausage and cabbage is super easy. All you need to do is put sliced cabbage, sausage and 1/2 cup water in the Instant Pot and pressure cook on High pressure for 10 minutes (for cooked sausage) or 12 minutes (for raw sausage). Dinner is ready!

- 1 lb cooked sausage, cut into ½-inch slices
- 1 head of cabbage, cut into 2-inch pieces
- ½ cup water
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Put water, cabbage and sausage in the Instant Pot and sprinkle with garlic powder. Close the lid and turn the valve to a Sealing position. Press the "Pressure Cook" or "Manual" button and set the time to 10 minutes.
- When the Instant Pot is done cooking, quick release (QR) the steam. Drain cabbage and sausage to remove excess water, then add salt and pepper to taste and serve.
