Easy Oven Baked Crispy Breaded Fish Recipe

If you think breaded fish always involves frying it in oil, wait until you try this recipe. This delicious crispy breaded fish is made by baking it in the oven – no frying required!

There are several advantages to baking the breaded fish instead of frying:

1) Baking the fish is healthier than frying because no extra oil is added

2) Baking is easier than frying as you don’t need to stand at the stove and actively cook it. You just put the fish in the oven and take it out when it’s ready – so easy!

3) Baking the fish makes it less prone to burning. It’s not easy to burn the fish when baking in the oven, but very easy to burn it on the frying pan.

4) Baking the fish is less messy than frying – no oil splatters to deal with!

5) You can multitask while the fish is baking – for example, make the salad!

So how does the breading stay on the baked fish? There is a secret ingredient that makes the breading stay on and keeps it crispy. The secret ingredient of baked breaded fish is MAYO! A little mayo goes a long way – just one tablespoon of mayo is enough to coat a pound of fish and keep the breading on!

Baked breaded fish is extremely easy to make and requires just 3 ingredients – fish, mayo and breadcrumbs. Coat the fish fillets in mayo, coat them in breadcrumbs, put in the oven and bake. That’s all there is to it – this easy recipe is perfect for busy weeknights!

You can serve this crispy breaded baked fish with white or brown rice, potatoes or a salad. Or you can even serve it with store-bought chips, so you can have a dinner of fish and chips!

Wow, this fish looks so crispy! I love that it’s only 3 simple ingredients. Also, there’s absolutely nothing that I hate more than frying… the mess, the burns that I’m likely to incur, the added fat and calories… forget it! This looks so much better anyway!
