Veggie Patch Mediterranean Spinach And Chickpea Patties From Costco

At Costco I tried a sample of the Veggie Patch Mediterranean Spinach & Chickpea Patties and I was sold.  These patties have the taste of a restaurant felafel… with a spinach twist!  Felafel is normally shaped like balls, but this particular Veggie Patch product is shaped like burger patties.

If you don’t like spinach, you don’t need to worry – the taste of the spinach is very subtle and is in perfect harmony with the felafel taste.  My small kids who don’t like spinach ate those patties and asked for more – and of course, I didn’t mention that there is spinach in it :)

The package of the Veggie Patch Mediterranean Spinach & Chickpea Patties From Costco has 12 veggie patties in it.  You keep them refrigerated, or freeze them if you are not planning to use them before the expiration date.

To cook these veggie felafel patties from Costco, you can use either a microwave (just microwave the patties until hot) or the oven.  Here are the cooking instructions from the package of Veggie Patch Mediterranean Spinach & Chickpea Patties for the conventional oven: (1) Preheat oven to 375F.  (2) Place patties on lightly greased baking sheet.  (3) Bake 11-13 minutes, until crisp.

I wanted the veggie patties to be crispy, so I used the oven.  And crispy they were!  These felafel veggie patties had the perfect crispy texture I was looking for, and make a very enjoyable dinner!

These Veggie Patch Mediterranean Spinach & Chickpea Patties from Costco are very healthy.  Each patty has only 120 calories, 5 grams of fat, 0.5 grams of saturated fat, 5 grams of fiber and 5 grams of protein.  Best of all, these felafel patties have no artificial flavors or preservatives!

Here’s the photo of my dinner: 2 Veggie Patch Mediterranean Spinach & Chickpea Patties with red pepper hummus and quinoa as a side dish.  Yum!

  3. I stumbled upon your blog looking for reviews and recipes for these yummy spinach and chickpea patties. I also found another use for them, Baked Salmon Croquettes!
Combine one 2.6 oz Salmon pouch, one chickpea pattie, one egg white and all the other goodness you care to put in your Croquettes.

Form into patties and bake–they will be a bit wet, so I cooked them a bit longer than usual.

    Om Nom Nom….

  4. Different Costco stores carry what is “popular” in their area. If you can’t find them at your Costco, phone the manager and request them. I had the same dilemma with the Portabella Mushroom Patties a few years ago. I was directed to another area store that carried them… until they were no longer manufactured (bummer, they were delicious).

  5. I just called my Costco in White Marsh MD and they claimed to have them, in deli section near speicalty cheeses. Driving there now. These things are delicious.

  12. I found them at Costco as well. They are very good dipped in Tzatziki sauce! I do them in the toaster oven; I don’t like how they come out kind of soggy in the microwave.

  13. I haven’t been able to find these at the Costco stores in Michigan. I asked today and was told they are a seasonal item and should return in the New Year. They temporarily stopped selling them to make room for holiday items. Love these things, so I hope they do come back!

  16. My husband and I love these! Just had them for dinner last night. They are amazing topped with a fried egg.

  17. I’ve found that a great way to prepare them is to microwave for 30 seconds, then pan cook them to get some crispiness to the exterior. Microwave alone makes them too soggy, and cooking in the oven takes too long! :)

By the way, the Costo store at Gratiot and I-696 (Michigan) has them. But, I’ll take the “seasonal” statement as a warning to stock up!

  18. I came here looking for the recipe. Tried them in Costco today but the price put me off. Back to Google

  19. My costco in Queens NY and Five Towns has them and I can’t say enough about them. Also Stop and Shop has another version in the section where all the tofu , frozen and refrigerator items are held . I just love these things they are great. I didn’t think the price was an issue.

  20. My wife and I love these patties. I have lost 22 lbs. in 3 months by cutting out my usual red meat habit. Our problem is trying to find these patties at Costco. We couldn’t find them any where. They weren’t in the freezers, coolers, by the other veggie burgers, chicken burgers, or meat burgers. Very frustrating. No one could help us.
