The pineapple chunks are simply fried on a non-stick frying pan.  No extra seasoning is needed since the pineapple itself is so full of flavor.  The sugar in pineapple caramelizes as it cooks, giving it a brownish color and bringing out a unique caramelized taste.  Pan-fried pineapple is sweet, sour and savory at the same time – what a burst of flavor!

Pan-fried pineapple is great served warm, right after it is cooked.  It can also be refrigerated and re-warmed in a microwave to be served later.  Pan-fried pineapple is great as a side dish accompaniment to chicken breast, pork or fish.

  1. I will make tonight for dinner with a small filet of Halibut and a small tenderloin. Thought I would add a bit of sweet say sauce to the butter fried pineapple, and have rice and asparagus. The idea of adding vanilla sounds like yummy over vanilla ice cream.
