How To Make Instant Pot Turkey Tenderloin

Here’s how to make turkey tenderloins in the Instant Pot for dinner. I’ll even share details about how to make it with either fresh or frozen tenderloins.

A package of turkey breast tenderloins
For this recipe, I used 24-ounce turkey breasts. They come in a simple packet and are incredibly easy to just open and cook. No trimming or cutting required!

Raw Turkey Breast in the Instant Pot

The first step is to season the turkey breast tenderloins. To do this, rub the turkey tenderloin with salt and pepper all over.  If you bought tenderloins that are already pre-seasoned, skip this step.

Next, insert the trivet in the Instant Pot. Add 1 cup of water to the Instant Pot and put the turkey tenderloin on the trivet. You will see the tenderloins sitting on a bit of water on the bottom. This is perfect and the Instant Pot will use the water to steam-cook the turkey.

Close the lid of the Instant Pot and turn the valve to a “Sealing” position.

Press the “Pressure Cook” or “Manual” button and set the time to 20 minutes on “High” pressure if the turkey tenderloin is thawed. If you are using frozen tenderloins, increase the cooking time by 10 minutes to 30 minutes.

Fully Cooked Turkey Breast

When the Instant Pot is done cooking, quick release (QR) the steam. You will know the turkey is cooked completely because it won’t be pink in the middle.

Cooking Tips:

  • Turkey breasts should reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. That is when you know they are fully cooked.
  • Make sure you use enough water in the Instant Pot or else it will give you an error code as it cooks.
  • When you serve the tenderloins, cut them into small slices so they are easier to eat.

What To Serve With Instant Pot Turkey Breast

As you can see from my plate, I love serving these turkey tenderloins with fresh, roasted vegetables. Make some roasted sweet potatoes and serve them along with air fryer roasted broccoli. This makes a complete and healthy meal.  This turkey also goes great with Instant Pot cranberry sauce!

I’ve never had turkey that falls apart in your mouth like this! Definitely more tender than I ever could have imagined, and so easy! I added a little poultry seasoning, garlic powder and onion powder to my turkey breasts, and my family couldn’t stop raving about this. Finally an excuse to have turkey on any old Wednesday, instead of waiting for a special occasion. Thank you so much for this!

Cooking for 20 minutes (not frozen) is perfect. I used chicken broth instead of water & added some celery & onion. Seasoned with pepper &
    Garlic salt. So yummy.

We made this tonight! In just 20 minutes it’s so tender and juicy! I’m thrilled! We’ll definitely be using this recipe from now on instead of heating up the entire house from firing up the oven! And I love how adjustable (seasonwise) this recipe is!! Yum!
