Caesar dressing makes a perfect marinade, it keeps the chicken moist and extra-juicy and infuses it with a garlicky Caesar flavor. For extra garlic taste, this recipe uses an extra 4 garlic cloves mixed with the Caesar dressing!
When these chicken legs bake, they don’t dry out and stay very succulent and juicy. Their skin turns beautiful golden brown and tastes delicious! People will wonder what’s the secret ingredient for these super yummy chicken legs… little do they know that the secret ingredient is the plain old bottled Caesar dressing!

The longer you marinate the chicken legs, the more rich and deep their taste will be. It’s best to marinate them in refrigerator overnight. However, if you don’t have time for overnight marinating, just marinate for 30 minutes on the counter – it will work just fine. And if you don’t even have 30 minutes, you can skip the marinating altogether – just slather the chicken legs with the Caesar dressing, stick in the oven and bake right away!
I also love to use bottled Italian dressing as a chicken marinade, especially in the summer for the grill! My guess is that most bottled dressings make good marinades, each with its own unique flavor! Check out my recipe for Italian dressing marinated grilled chicken.
