Kids Lunch Box Ideas

Have you kids started school or preschool?  Do your kids need to take lunch to school in lunch boxes?  Are you running out of kids lunch box ideas? Do your kids complain about what you pack in their lunch boxes?  Do they bring back uneaten lunches, or, even worse, throw out their lunches and pretend that they ate it?

For the kids lunches to get eaten, you need to pack the stuff that kids like.  That doesn’t mean that kids lunch box contents should consists of candy and cheetos!  Just pack kid-friendly meals that I describe below.  If the kids don’t eat the lunches that you packed for them in your lunch box, you are wasting food and are wasting your time preparing and packing those lunches.  Don’t be in denial – keep tweaking your lunch box strategies until you find something that works.

Here are some super-kid-friendly meal ideas for kids lunch boxes:

1) Peanut butter and jelly sandwich

2) Peanut butter sandwich (no jelly) – some kids prefer it to the usual peanut-butter-jelly combination

3) Sandwich with Nutella (instead of peanut butter)

4) Cheese sandwich

5) Cheese and lunch meat (turkey, roast beef or ham) sandwich

6) Grilled cheese panini

7) Grilled turkey/roast beef/ham and cheese panini

8) Pizza!

9) Cheese quesadilla

10) Boiled eggs

11) Pasta with shredded cheese (unlike mac-n-cheese, it doesn’t get sticky when cold)

12) Pasta with tomato sauce

13) Chicken nuggets

14) Fish sticks

15) Yogurt

16) Granola bars with protein content

I hope these kids lunch box ideas got your brain going!  By the way, for the sandwiches most kids prefer super-soft bread without the crust.  I’m sure there are other things that your child likes in addition to this list of lunch box ideas.  Think about what else your child likes and right it down.  Create your own master list of the possible school lunches – it will make your life so much easier!

To make packing lunch boxes a no-brainer, figure out what your kid likes and create a lunch box meal schedule – for example, pizza on monday, cheese quesadilla on tuesday, etc.  This way, you won’t have to waste time thinking of ideas what to pack in the kids lunch box!

If you child goesn’t like a certain lunch, scratch it off the list.  Keep experimenting until you perfect the list of the possible lunches for your kids lunch boxes.

When doing your grocery shopping list, don’t forget about the ingredients for kids’ lunch box!  Planning ahead is key.  Using your list of kids lunch ideas and smart planning will make packing kids lunches super easy.
