Put the almonds and salt into a food processor bowl fitted with the steel blade.
Turn the food processor on and process for 4 minutes.
Turn off the food processor and mix the almonds, scraping down the sides of the bowl.
Turn on the food processor and process until the mixture turns into a sticky ball.
Turn off the food processor and mix the almonds, breaking apart the ball.
Turn on the food processor and process until the mixture becomes smooth and the right consistency of the almond butter. The entire process takes 15-20 minutes.
Notes
For roasted almond butter, simply roast the almonds in a 350°F oven for 5-10 minutes before processing for a deeper, nuttier flavor.
You can store homemade almond butter in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks in an airtight jar to maintain its freshness.
