I came across Pomi Chopped Tomatoes in the supermarket. Unlike the usual chopped tomatoes that come in tin cans, the Pomi Tomatoes come in a paper carton. Here’s a picture of Pomi Tomatoes package:

I just had to try out Pomi Tomatoes. I’m glad I did! Pomi Tomatoes have a cleaner, fresher and more natural tomato flavor than the usual canned chopped tomatoes. Pomi Chopped Tomatoes made an outstanding tomato sauce, and I’m going to share this extremely easy tomato sauce recipe right here.

Ingredients For Tomato Sauce Recipe:
1 carton (26 oz) Pomi Chopped Tomatoes
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp dried basil
6 tbsp olive oil
Salt to taste
How To Make Tomato Sauce With Pomi Chopped Tomatoes:
Heat the oil in a sauce pan over medium-high heat. Add garlic and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds. Add Pomi Chopped Tomatoes, sprinkle with dried basil and stir. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

This is a very simple salad that can be put together in less then 5 minutes, especially if you are using packaged lettuce leaves. You can make this salad with any kind of lettuce – the picture above shows romaine lettuce.
Ingredients For The Salad:
Lettuce
Cherry tomatoes
Olive oil
Vinegar or lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions How To Make A Salad:
In a cup, whisk olive oil and lemon juice (3 parts of oil to 1 part of vinegar) – this is the dressing for the salad.
Put lettuce leaves on a plate, drizzle with the dressing and toss.
Put cherry tomatoes on top.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Ingredients:
2 lbs fresh tomatoes (or 28 oz can whole tomatoes with juice)
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp dried basil (you can also use oregano instead) or 1 bunch fresh
2 tbsp oil
salt and pepper to taste
Directions
If using fresh tomatoes, peel them.
Chop the tomatoes.
Heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring periodically, for 5 minutes.
Add the chopped tomatoes and their juice. Stir, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
Add garlic and basil. Stir, cover and simmer for 5 more minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
If the sauce is too chunky, you can process it in the food processor.
