Ingredients
- 24 oz dry fettuccine pasta
- 1 cup butter 2 sticks
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream ¾ pint
- ¼ tsp garlic salt
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¾ cup Romano cheese grated
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese grated
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley optional, chopped for toppings
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add fettuccine and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain well.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter with heavy cream over low heat.
- Stir in garlic salt, salt, and black pepper.
- Increase heat to medium and add Romano and Parmesan cheese.
- Stir continuously until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes smooth and slightly thick.
- Mix in 2 tablespoons chopped parsley and stir to combine.
- Add cooked fettuccine to the sauce and toss until fully coated.
- Serve immediately, topped with additional parsley if desired.
Notes
- The sauce thickens quickly as it cools, so serve right away for the best texture.
- If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of hot pasta water to loosen it.
