Cut off the tough stems of the kale and coarsely chop the leaves.
Heat olive oil, minced garlic and red pepper flakes in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat until the garlic is fragrant. Add the kale and sesame seeds and mix until combined.
Cook, stirring every minute, for 5 minutes, or until kale is desired tenderness. Add sesame oil (if using) and soy sauce and stir to combine.
