These amazing mashed potatoes are ready in 15 minutes from start to finish thanks to the Instant Pot pressure cooker! Once you try these Instant Pot mashed potatoes, you'll never make them any other way!

  • 8 medium potatoes (about 2.5 pounds), peeled and quartered
  • 1 cup water or chicken stock
  • 8 tbsp (1 stick) butter, cut into pieces
  • Milk to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  1. Pour water or chicken stock in the Instant Pot.
  2. Add potatoes to the Instant Pot.
  3. Close the Instant Pot and set the valve to Sealing position.
  4. Press the "Pressure Cook" or "Manual" button and set the time to 10 minutes on High Pressure.
  5. When the time beeps, use the Quick Release option to release the pressure.
  6. Open the Instant Pot and add butter to the potatoes.
  7. Mash the potatoes with potato masher. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add milk until the mashed potatoes reach the desired consistency.
