Slow cooker is the easiest way to make bone broth, this delicious bone broth just makes itself! Don't throw out Rotisserie chicken bones ever again!
Recipe type: Soup
Cuisine: American
Serves: 8 servings
  • Bones from 1-2 rotisserie chickens (or 1-2 lbs beef or pork bones)
  • 2 celery stalks, quartered
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • Water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  1. If you are using beef or pork bones, roast them first for better flavor by baking at 450F for 30 minutes. If you are using chicken bones, you don't need to roast them.
  2. Put bones, celery and onion in a slow cooker. Fill the slow cooker with cold water, leaving 1-inch space from the top.
  3. Cook on Low for 10 hours.
  4. Strain the bone broth through a sieve or a fine-mesh strainer.
  5. Add the salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Refrigerate the bone broth in an air-tight container. Bone broth also freezes very well, you can pour it into ziploc bags and freeze.
