This packaged Rice & Lentil Pilaf of Ziyad brand is a great instant side dish!  The Middle Eastern name for this rice and lentil dish is Mujadara.  This yummy pilaf consists of cooked rice, lentils, onions flavored with oil and spices.  Mediterranean mujadara tastes so unique, rich and complete – it can be a stand alone vegetarian main dish or a side dish served alongside chicken, meat or fish.

Ziyad Mujadara Rice And Lentil Pilaf is microwaveable and is ready in 2 minutes!  Inside the package there is a plastic bag with pre-cooked Mujadara, and all you need to do is cut of the top of that plastic bag and microwave on High for 2 minutes.  After that, put this tasty rice and lentil pilaf on a plate and enjoy this tasty dish!

Here’s the nutritional information for Ziyad Mujadara Rice And Lentil Pilaf: serving size 1/2 package, 220 calories, 6 g fat, 1 g saturated fat, zero trans fat, zero cholesterol, 190 mg sodium, 34 g total carbohydrate, 2 g fiber, 7 g protein, 4% calcium, 4% vitamin C and 4% iron.  The ingredients are basmati rice, whole green lentils, onions, water, olive oil, salt and black pepper.  This yummy rice and lentil pilaf is all natural – no preservatives!

I buy Ziyad Mujadara at Costco – the Costco package has 2 boxes of this rice and lentil pilaf and 2 boxes of another Ziyad item – Maftoul Baladi (Middle Eastern Couscous), also delicious.
