Tomato Sauce Recipe Using Pomi Chopped Tomatoes

I came across Pomi Chopped Tomatoes in the supermarket.  Unlike the usual chopped tomatoes that come in tin cans, the Pomi Tomatoes come in a paper carton.  Here’s a picture of Pomi Tomatoes package:

I just had to try out these tomatoes, and  I’m glad I did!  Pomi Tomatoes have a cleaner, fresher and more natural tomato flavor than the usual canned chopped tomatoes.  Pomi Chopped Tomatoes made an outstanding tomato sauce, and I’m going to share this extremely easy tomato sauce recipe right here.

  1. Hi Melanie

I am a vegetarian living in Seattle, WA area. I am looking for a place to buy Pomi tomatoes in a cardboard container. Can you help me.

    Thanks Tom

  2. Hi Melanie,
This looks like a great simple recipe. Do you know about how much salt you use? I’m not sure how much to put in at the beginning…
    thanks!

  3. S.J. – just add salt at the end, to taste. Keep adding a little bit at a time, until it tastes right. I’d start with 1/4 tsp.
    Melanie
