I bought this Spicy Red Pepper Hummus from Costco to go with the felafel veggie patties from Costco.  The brand of this hummus dip is called Tribe Origins, and the Costco package has 2 tubs of spicy red pepper hummus (1 lb each).

I’ve tasted a sample of this hummus at Costco before buying it and really liked it.  Tribe Origins Spicy Red Pepper Hummus tastes like a fresh restaurant hummus – at a fraction of the price that you would have payed in a restaurant! 2 lbs of this excellent red pepper hummus was a total of $5.49 at Costco.

The package of the spicy red pepper hummus states that the hummus is all natural with no artificial ingredients.  This is always a bonus in my book!  The nutritional facts for spicy red pepper hummus list the following for the serving size of 2 tbsp of hummus: 70 calories, 5 grams of fat, 0.5 grams of saturated fat, zero trans fat, 1 gram of fiber, 2 grams of protein, 2% of daily value of calcium and 4% of daily value of iron.  That’s a pretty healthy food, and the great part is that hummus actually makes you full!

As you can see, the “spicy red pepper” sauce is pooled in the center.  To make all of the hummus taste like spicy red pepper, I mixed the hummus thoroughly with a spoon.  After mixing, the hummus color changed to have a tint of red – from the spicy red pepper sauce.

How do you eat hummus?  You can have hummus with a felafel, with veggie patties, as a dip for chips or pita, as a sandwich spread or as a sauce to go with meat or fish.  Red pepper hummus is very versatile and very yummy too!
