When it comes to cream cheese, I’m a brand snob. I don’t care about brands in many types of food, but always stick to Philadelphia when buying cream cheese. Philadelphia cream cheese tastes so much better than any other cream cheese brands that I tried. My favorite flavor of Philadelphia Cream Cheese is Honey Nut Flavor. This cream cheese is sweet and has a hint of honey, just like it should :) It even has small pieces of real nuts! Great flavor and great texture makes a perfect cream cheese spread! The local supermarkets don’t always have the Philadelphia honey nut flavor cream cheese. They constantly have other flavors (like strawberry, salmon and garden flavor), but not my favorite Honey Nut! I always get worried that it got discontinued! But then I see the Honey Nut cream cheese back on the store shelves, and quickly buy it before it disappears again. Philadelphia Cream Cheese Honey Nut Flavor spread on a warm toasted bagel makes such a tasty breakfast. I love the Honey Nut flavor cream cheese so much that I often it is with a spoon! It’s also great on waffles and toast. Yum!

When it comes to making stuffing for the Thanksgiving table, I take a shortcut of using a packaged stuffing mix. My favorite kind of stuffing is cornbread. Last year I used the Kraft brand of cornbread stuffing mix that’s pictured above. Here are the package directions for Kraft cornbread stovetop stuffing mix: bring 1 1/2 cups of water and 1/4 cup of vegetable spread to a boil, then add the stuffing mix, stir, cover and remove from heat. In 5 minutes, it will be ready! I make one change to the package directions of the stuffing mix: I add butter instead of a vegetable spread. Butter tastes so much better and doesn’t have trans fats! Making stuffing from the package is easy enough, but I go even further by taking another shortcut: I make it ahead! Yes, I’m that lazy :) I just don’t want to fumble with the stuffing while the guests are sitting there. What I do is make the stuffing the morning of Thanksgiving, then keep it on “Warm” setting in the slow cooker. It makes absolutely no difference in the taste. I don’t stuff the turkey, so stuffing is a separate dish. I make turkey using [...]

This is my favorite green salad – a simply outstanding salad of baby spinach, candied pecans, dried cranberries, oranges, avocado and feta cheese. This combination of flavors is a winner, and the salad tastes even better than it sounds. I served this salad on my holiday table, and it was a huge hit! This salad looks impressive and tastes impressive :) I make my own candied pecans for this salad – making them at home is surprisingly easy! But of course you can use store-bought candied pecans as well. Baby Spinach Salad With Candied Pecans And Dried Cranberries Preparation time: 5 minute(s) Number of servings: 4 Salad Ingredients: 1 bag (8 oz) of baby spinach leaves 1 can of orange segments, drained 1 avocado 1 cup candied pecans (see homemade candied pecans recipe, or you can use store-bought) 1 handful of dried cranberries 1 handful of crumbled feta cheese 1 tbsp olive oil 1 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice Salt and pepper to taste Directions: Peel an avocado and cut into chunks. In a cup, mix the olive oil and lemon juice with a fork.
This Thanksgiving turkey recipe produces the best yummiest turkey I ever tasted! The turkey comes out perfectly browned on the outside, and most, juicy and succulent on the inside! Before I made this turkey, I always thought that I don’t like turkey breast meat because it’s too dry… but I loved the breast meat on this turkey! The turkey breast meat was also moist and melting in my mouth! This is the Thanksgiving turkey that your guests will rave about and ask for the recipe. And the best thing of all is that this Thanksgiving turkey recipe is super-easy – you put the turkey in the oven and forget about it until it’s done. No messy basting is needed! This Thanksgiving turkey recipe uses the brown paper shopping bag. Yes, the brown paper bag from the grocery store – the kind that you get when you choose paper over plastic :) Don’t confuse it with the oven bag – I have tried making the turkey in the oven bag before, and it was not nearly as good as the one made in the brown paper bag! If you are concerned about the paper bag catching on fire – be [...]

“Head cheese” is not a cheese. I don’t know why it’s called cheese, when it is, in fact, meat! Head cheese is a jellied meat made from the meat of the head of a pig or cow. That’s why it’s “head”, but who knows why it’s “cheese” :) Head cheese is sold in the deli department along with lunch meat coldcuts. The name and the concept of head cheese sounds gross, but head cheese is actually quite a tasty cold cut! When I’m in a mood for a different lunch meat, I order sliced head cheese in a local ethnic supermarket. How do you eat head cheese? Just like any other deli meat – sliced, on the sandwich. On the picture above, it’s an open-face sandwich with head cheese – a piece of bread spread with mustard, and several slices of head cheese on top. Head cheese goes really well with mustard or horseradish! Get out of the lunch meat rut! Be brave, try the head cheese! :)
