Cheese pancakes is a popular Russian recipe. Cheese pancakes is “syrniki” in Russian – the Russian word for cheese is “syr”. Syrniki are made out of farmer’s cheese. You can find farmer’s cheese in the same isle as ricotta cheese in most well-stocked supermarkets. You can use regular or lowfat farmer’s cheese for the cheese pancakes recipe. Cheese pancakes make a great breakfast. They are a nice change for the usual breakfast fare. If you want something new and different for breakfast, go ahead and make syrniki cheese pancakes! Cheese pancakes can be made with or without raisins. I like the version with raisins much better, so I always make my syrniki loaded with raisins! Ingredients For Cheese Pancakes (Syrniki) Recipe: 1 lb of farmer’s cheese 2 tbsp sugar 1/8 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla 2 eggs 1/2 cup raisins (optional) 2 tbsp flour (plus additional 1 cup of flour for coating) 1 tbsp oil Directions How To Make Russian Cheese Pancakes (Syrniki) Recipe: Put 1 cup of flour on a large plate. Mix farmer’s cheese, sugar, salt, vanilla, eggs, raisins and 2 tbsp of flour in a bowl. Divide the mixture into 10 parts, and roll each part in [...]

French toast is a great way to use leftover bread and is very easy to make. French toast is great for breakfast, especially with maple syrup! You can also enjoy easy french toast as a tasty treat or dessert any time :) French toast taste can range from good to excellent. The way to get the *excellent* french toast is to make it from challah bread! Challah produces the yummiest french toast possible! Challah french toast sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar is the king of french toast :) Ingredients You Need For Challah French Toast Recipe: 1 small challah, sliced 2 eggs 2 cups of milk Powdered sugar Cinnamon 2 tbsp oil Directions How To Make Challah French Toast: Whisk the eggs in a bowl, then pour in the milk and mix. Heat the oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat (I use 2 frying pans on 2 burners, 1 tbsp of oil in each pan). Dip each challah slice in the egg and milk mixture on both sides. Put dipped challah slices on a frying pan. Cook for 3 minutes (or until the underside is golden-brown), then flip each slice with a spatula and cook [...]

One morning I was about to make my usual blueberry pancakes. Then as I was getting the ingredients out, I realized that I was out of blueberries! I didn’t have any frozen or fresh ones… the only berries I had were the frozen sliced STRAWBERRIES in my freezer :) Since everyone was already expecting the pancake breakfast, I figured I’ll give the strawberries a shot. The result was outstanding – we all loved the new strawberry pancakes! These have tons of large strawberry pieces with intense strawberry flavor! Ingredients: 1 egg 1 cup yogurt 1 tbsp vanilla 2 tbsp sugar 1 cup flour 1 tsp baking powder 1 tbsp baking soda 1 package (12 oz.) frozen sliced strawberries (you can also use fresh strawberries) 1 tbsp oil Directions: Whisk the egg, then add yogurt, vanilla and sugar and stir until combined. Add flour, baking powder and baking soda, and stir until combined. Add the strawberries and stir until combined. It will seem like there are way too many strawberries, but it’s OK the way it is :) Heat the oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat (I always use 2 pans on 2 burners to speed things up). Use a large spoon [...]

Yummy breakfast! Great with maple syrup! Ingredients: 10 slices of bread 2 cups of milk 2 eggs 2 tbsp sugar 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tbsp oil Directions: Heat the old in a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Whisk the eggs, milk, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Dip a slice of bread in the milk mixture, then turn it, dip the other side and put on a frying pan. Repeat with the remaining slices (that fit in a frying pan). Cook for 2 minutes, then flip the bread, reduce heat to medium and cook for another 4 minutes. Note: I like to cut the bread slices diagonally (like a triangle) before dipping and frying. This way more bread fits on a frying pan. I also use 2 frying pans at once.
