breaded tilapia from costco - cooked and served on a plate

On my recent trip to Costco I bought the breaded tilapia fish.  Breaded tilapia from Costco is sold in the fresh fish refrigerated section.  Most fish in that section in Costco is just plain fish, without any marinates or coating.  Then all of a sudden, I see breaded tilapia, right next to the regular tilapia.

I was feeling pretty lazy that day, so I decided to take a shortcut and get the breaded tilapia from Costco.  I wanted to make my Crispy Breaded Fish recipe, and by getting the tilapia that was already breaded I can save the step of rolling the tilapia in eggs and bread crumbs.  Breaded tilapia fish was only 30 cents per pound more than regular tilapia next to it, so I went ahead and purchased the breaded tilapia from Costco.

Here’s the picture of the package with breaded tilapia from Costco:

When I got home, I heated some oil on my large non-stick frying pan, put the breaded tilapia on it, and cooked the tilapia fish for 4 minutes per side.  The breaded coating turned an attractive golden-brown color, and the fish was really yummy!  Best of all, I didn’t need to make a mess with eggs and bread crumbs, and didn’t have to clean up any extra bowls and plates.  Just open the package of breaded tilapia, fry it and eat it all up!

I served the breaded tilapia with the yellow rice as a side dish.  I make yellow rice in a rice cooker – yes, I’m very lazy :)  What a great meal it was!  Breaded tilapia from Costco was a great find.
